Everyone loves a good slime, right? Here’s a not-too-messy recipe for a fun fluffy pumpkin slime that’s easy enough for kids to make.
Fluffy slime is made from shaving cream, glue, baking soda, and saline solution. A safe chemical reaction turns these common ingredients into a fluffy opaque ball instead of a clear and oozy slime. It’s easy to make with our simple step-by-step directions. This is a great holiday activity for kids, and is easy to clean up!
What You Will Need
- A can of regular foamy shaving cream (not the gel kind)
- Elmer’s White Washable School Glue
- Saline Solution (not contact solution)
- Baking soda
- Food coloring
Steps to Make Fluffy Slime
Step 1– Measure out 3 cups of foamy shaving cream. Scoop it into a bowl. A plastic bowl may pick up the food color, so use glass or metal.
Step 2– Stir in food coloring. I used 10 drops of red and 14 drops of yellow coloring. This made a soft orange colored slime. Stir in enough food coloring to get the color you want. You may want it darker than this, so add more color.
Step 3– Add glue and stir well. The slime will look soft and creamy.
Step 4– Add baking soda and saline solution.
Step 5– Fold in and stir really well. The slime will start to form a blob and pull away from the sides of the bowl. You can knead it with your hands at this point until it is firm and not sticky.
Step 6– If after stirring thoroughly the slime is still very sticky, put a few drops of saline solution on your hands and knead the slime.
